"Terminal operators, MWUN sign agreement to enhance dockworkers welfare"

For a lot of dock workers especially the forceful retrenched 688. This might be a resounding relief that finally, the clarion call of the Energy Neftegas Limited (ENL), has agreed to signed the collective bargaining agreement, which for many has come to stay. 

RESIDENTS AT LABAKA RESISTED DISCONNECTION AND ESTIMATED BILLING. Demand for Prepaid Metre.

. Today Monday (5/11/2018) women at Labaka street, an axis in Alaba Oro/Mosafejo community troop out in their numbers to carried out sensitization in the community over the issue of estimated billing and the demand for prepaid metre. They were angered over the recent operations of the Eko Disco in the area.

THE INCESSANT UNREST IN AJEGUNLE IS LARGELY CAUSED BY FAILED POLICIES. 

Following the unrest clawing down to pieces the Aiyetoro  community for the past two weeks now, residents on Saturday 18/8/2018 from different streets in Ajegunle gathered themselves in an open place to deliberate on the practical solutions to this unrest, pounding the entire area especially the Layinka street.

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities from Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and Benin zones; affiliates members of Joint Action Fronts, socialists and activists were in a protest today Friday (14/8/2018) to demand for the reinstatement and recalling of Dr. Akinloye Oyewunmi and Dr. Adebowale Adeyemi-Suenu "unconditionally".

Ajegunle People's Movement General meeting Sat. 21/7/2018 Ajegunle - Wednesday 22/8/2018 at the Nigerian Union of Teachers  (NUT) hall, Oregie Oja, Ajegunle.   27 persons representing different group were in a leadership meeting to brainstorm on how to build an United Front in order to intensify and consolidate the campaign and resistances breaking out in Ajegunle over the issuance of crazy bills.

HUNDREDS PROTEST AGAINST ESTIMATED BILLING.

Tuesday 14/8/2018, hundreds of protesters under the aegis of Landlords and Tenants Association of Nigeria (LTAN) led by one Ijora Akinolu (President of the platform), staged a protest to both Marina and Ikeja Eko Disco to registered their plight.

Friday 10 August, 2018 of the third week of the Free Coaching ended with a Career Talk. Barrister Mubarak (a Legal Practioner) who resides in the community, was invited to give a Counselling on the topic: THE IMPACT OF EDUCATION. 

ERC KICK STARTS FREE COACHING LESSON IN AJEGUNLE

LIFEINSLUM reports the marvelous initiative of the Education Rights Campaign for organizing the thirteenth edition of the Free Coaching Lesson in Ajegunle. This is a programme initiated to engage young people. Corporate Organizations should support this initiative with whatever support in order to help fulfill the aspirations of these teenagers. 

DESPITE THE ANGER, THE SENSITIZATION WENT ON

As continuation of yesterday (28/7/2018) Socialist Party of Nigeria Statewide Tabling and Circulation of SPN leaflet.  The Ajegunle SPN held theirs today Sunday (29/7/2018) at the heart of Ajegunle where commercial activities usually kick off, where people go out to in order to feed their families. It was very rich and inspiring, engaging people with the leaflets despite the response.

Before the resumption hour of 8:00am industrial workers of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the affiliate groups in the Joint Action Front (JAF) in the very hour of 5am Monday 9 July, 2018 picket MTN Telecommunication Shopping Plaza at Falamo-Ikoyi, Lagos.

Just as Ijora Badia, Aiyetoro etc are boiling. Women from Ojo road, Atebo, Ibitoye etc in Ifelodun LCDA,  followed suit under the platform of OJO ROAD WOMEN UNITE to preoccupied the street of Lagos today (22/6/2018) in their hundreds to say Enough is Enough to the Eko Distribution Company (EKEDC). 

EZEAGU RISE FOR NO LIGHT! NO PAYMENT!

Just to inform that this morning today Thursday (21/6/2018). Few minutes ago, women at least thirty of them or thereabout in Ezeagu Street, angrily mobilize themselves to the Baale of Oke-ore, Ojo road (a young chap)  for him to intervene concerning the light situation in the community. 

N600 OR NO DISCONNECTION! Solidarity to the sensitization rally in Ajegunle

More than six communities representing different streets and areas in Ajegunle gathered today Monday (18/6/2018) to do sensitization rally in the community.  The rally was to sensitized people to begin to come out and demand for free prepaid metres, fight against exploitative crazy bill and equally resist disconnection in the community. 

JOBLESSNESS: THE TICKING BOMB IN NIGERIA

Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb that is not far from explosion. Perhaps with the current reality it depicts danger. In short, if nothing practically is done to address this tension and incoming disaster that awaits this country, the repercussion will be hullabaloo and very enormous to manage. As things stand, the Nigerian economy is in total paralysis where all public corporations are in total coma and smorgasbord.

Ajegunle - As 1929 was when thousands of women in Aba rose against the British colonial tax on the poor which was introduced by the British colonial Lords and Merchants to augment the colossal lost of the First World War 1914 - 18; so also today recorded in Ajegunle, Lagos. 

MAY DAY: ULC DEMANDS FOR 96000 NEW MINIMUM WAGE

LAGOS - This year May Day for the United Labour Congress was significant. Thousands of the ULC members gathered under the Bridge at Ojuelagba on May 1st International Workers Day to demand for 96000 Naira new minimum wage.

PRE-MAY DAY: LABOUR MUST UNITE FOR A POLITICAL FRONT

The Pre May Day public symposium of the United Labour Congress (ULC) organized by the ULC Lagos Chapter held on Friday 30 April, 2018 at Air Port Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos; was a fire ball that tore the thick skin of the heavens. Agitated solidarity songs lit the hall immediately the program started at exactly 11:15am.
