PRY EDUCATION OFFICER AJEROMI IFELODUN CAME TO GIVE CARRER TALK

Week Four of the Free Coaching lesson that ended Friday 17/8/2018 witnessed the visitation of the Primary Education Officer, Mrs.  Ebiesuwa Tinuola. A and also Mrs. Akotun Adejoke. A (Asst. Edu. Officer). 

Their coming was an inspiration to a lot of the students who have been attending the lesson since this week. She applaud the ERC for such an initiative put up in the community to organized a programme like this. Mrs. Tinu said such kind of programme ERC initiated deserve a laudable support to further encourage it. 

Mrs. E. A Tinuola was given the floor to counsel the students on issues around Young People Challenges Choosing a Career. She spoke extensively on three major Who You Are, Society and The Environment You Grow Up From. Mrs. Tinu challenge the students that despite whatever they going through. 

That they shouldn't surrender to things that distracts them. She urged the students to be determined in life. Most importantly to engage themselves academically no matter what background they are coming from. She emphasized on this point emphatically on the value of education which is the core in making a better Career. 

Sharing her experience when she was young about making a career. Mrs. E. A Tinu said "the life of a career is a risk one". Likewise "at the point of making a career. There us always a problem". However, it doesn't mean they the students should surrender to the ongoing communal restiveness eating up the community.

Failing to recognize this and giving themselves excuses might probably take them ten times backward in life. It is only through education, reading and posting questions about things around them, will they be able to get things right. But first, they must ask themselves want to do with their time in choosing a Career. 

The chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in the person of Segun Ajayi popularly known as Dagga Tolar who is a Socialist Fighter and Trade Unionist and the Acting General Secretary of the Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM), was also at the lesson to share his own part about life and young people. 

He spoke on the the importance of education and what at large has drag the "lifeless" body of education to the cemetery. Mr. Ajayi post the challenge to the students that for them attending this lesson. They should take it upon themselves to explore all the available space of equipping themselves qualitatively with books. 

Otherwise, they will crawl at the feet of ignorance. Despite the Career Talk that end this week. Teachers beginning from Monday (13/8/2018) had enormously given their best to teach the students academically and also morally advice them to be a better person in the community despite the circumstances. 

Being the lesson is now Four Weeks old since July 23, 2018 it started. The numbers of students recorded this week so far were in SS 1: 32. 82%, SS 2: 44.78% and SS 3: 22.39%. Next Monday shall begin Week Five of the lesson. To encourage this inspired programme ERC is doing in the community.
