TIME TO BOYCOTT PAYING CRAZY BILL!

Immediately after the general meeting held at Arumoh Street in Ajegunle on Wednesday 27 June, 2018. Residents in the community mostly women decided to go out for sensitization rally.
The women in their numbers with the participation of community activists, socialists, and youths went round the community to call on people to join the campaign of N600 or No Disconnection! No Light! No Payment! No Prepaid! No Payment!

For that day, more than twelve streets in the Aiyetoro community were covered. Moving from street to street attracted a lot of people mostly women who were also challenge that something like this must commence in their neighborhood.

At Bolaji Street where the women together with the youth have to stop for people residing in that community to be addressed. Some of the women were enthusiastic about the whole thing after hearing a speech from one of the volunteer Task Force.

Resident in that area were highly impressed and also challenge that something must be done. The youth also said the same. Meanwhile, activists and socailsts appeal to the people not to attack any of the electricity worker. But peacefully stop them from disconnection.

Doing this by stopping them from disconnecting any residential building is to empower the campaign, and also send a strong statement over the demand for Free Prepaid Metres to all household in Ajegunle. A group called *APM has retain this position in all their publications in the community.

That privatization of the power sector is the biggest monster responsible to the crazy bill people are forced to pay every month. In an economy where the minimum wage is N18000 ($42) for an employed person with families to live on. The demand for the government to take it back is ultimately the way forward.

For the women made up of old and young were determined and ever ready to continue the campaign. They strongly believe that uniting all rank and file poor residents in the community, will give strength and bold the spine of the campaign. For them, no turning back that is what hundreds of them are saying.

The resolved six hundred for electricity bill every month per room is what is breaking many walls in Ajegunle. The plan to have a total boycott of No Payment in Ajegunle (NOPA) is something subsequently shall take place soon. The streets covered were spirited with sensitization songs. Join the campaign. Organized your community. Reject crazy! Demand for Free Prepaid Metres! #OccupyEkoDisco
